Adapters that work with C4 LINK

One rule covers all of them: it must be Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). If the listing says that, it will work.

Budget pick

Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0

~$20–30

The go-to budget pick. Small, cheap, and the BLE 4.0 version is the one browsers can see — double-check the listing says BLE, not classic Bluetooth.

Newer revision

Vgate iCar Pro BLE 5.x

~$25–35

Newer revision of the iCar Pro with Bluetooth 5. Faster reconnects and a bit more range in the engine bay.

Low power

LELink / LELink² BLE

~$30–40

A solid, well-reviewed BLE adapter with automatic sleep so it won't drain your battery when left plugged in.

Tuner favorite

vLinker FD / BM / MC+ BLE

~$30–45

The BLE versions of the vLinker line work great. Popular with the tuning crowd for faster data rates and wider protocol support.

Premium

OBDLink CX (BLE)

~$55–65

The premium option. Rock-solid firmware, battery saver, and official BLE support — priced accordingly.

Find on Amazon

C4 LINK is not affiliated with any of these brands. Prices are rough street prices and change often — the buttons are plain Amazon searches so you can pick the seller you trust.

What to avoid

Cheap "ELM327" Bluetooth dongles

The $10 no-name dongles use Bluetooth Classic, which no browser can see. The listing must say Bluetooth LE / BLE 4.0 or higher.

Wi-Fi OBD2 adapters

Web Bluetooth only speaks Bluetooth LE. Wi-Fi adapters create a hotspot instead, and C4 LINK can't connect to those.

Big-screen tuning

Runs on your laptop

C4 LINK is a web app — if your machine runs Chrome or Edge with Bluetooth, it runs C4 LINK. Live gauges, fault codes and track mode on a full-size screen, at the track or in the garage.

Windows laptops

Chrome or Edge, any recent version. Pair the adapter and open c4link.app — nothing to install.

MacBooks

Works in Chrome or Microsoft Edge on macOS. Built-in Bluetooth is all you need.

Chromebooks

ChromeOS ships Chrome with Web Bluetooth built in. The lightest way to get a big-screen dash.

Android phones & tablets

Chrome on Android has full Web Bluetooth support — same live gauges and code scanning in your pocket.

Not supported: iPhone and iPad — Safari has no Web Bluetooth support, so a browser app can't pair with an adapter there. Demo mode still works in every browser, on every device, with nothing plugged in.

Or try the simulated adapter in demo mode first — no hardware needed.
